About Us
Gallerist Nyoman Sugata founded Last Chance Artists to connect artists living and working on his native island of Bali with collectors in the United Kingdom and the wider world.
He divides his time between his home in Denpasar, the capital city of Bali and his family in England. He is married to British designer Emily Readett Bayley whom he met through their mutual friends. Before setting up LCA he was a volunteer with the NGO who worked with Oxfam throughout the 1990's developing the Balinese handicraft industry.
Currently the collection includes work from a diverse selection of painters from Bali and Java. Pande Supada is one of the definitive Balinese artist's of the 1970's, Budiarta and is a rising star with recent exhibitions in Europe. Others are unknown street artists yet to be discovered. Many of our paintings have never been seen before outside Bali.
A shared theme throughout the collection is the rich but increasingly threatend ecology of the Indonesian archapelogo and Pandi our featured artist has been chosen because of his particular empathy with the local wildlife.
Our private collection of Pandi's work can be seen at Nyoman Sugata's gallery in England.
The Gallery, 54 Main Road, Long Bennington, Nr Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG23 5DJ.
